We recommend booking your private event at least 2-4 weeks in advance, especially for weekends and holidays. For full venue buyouts or events during peak season (November-December), booking 6-8 weeks ahead is ideal. However, we do accept last-minute bookings based on availability, so don't hesitate to contact us even if your event is coming up soon.

What is the minimum spend requirement for private events?

Accepted Answer

Our minimum spend varies by package: Intimate Gathering (10-20 guests) starts at $800, Semi-Private Lounge (20-40 guests) starts at $1,500, and Full Venue Buyout (up to 100 guests) starts at $5,000. The minimum spend includes food, drinks, and hookah service. Decorations, live entertainment, and special requests may incur additional fees.

Can I customize the menu for my private event?

Absolutely! We work closely with you to create a customized menu that fits your event theme and guest preferences. Choose from our Mediterranean mezze platters, Persian entrees, hookah flavors, craft cocktails, and botanical bar options. We can accommodate dietary restrictions including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal requirements. Our chef is happy to discuss menu options during your consultation.

We host a wide variety of private events including birthday parties, engagement celebrations, bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate events, team building gatherings, holiday parties, wedding receptions, anniversaries, graduation celebrations, networking events, and cultural celebrations. Our versatile space and Mediterranean atmosphere work beautifully for both professional and personal occasions.

Does Carnys provide entertainment for private events?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We offer several entertainment options including live bands (jazz, Mediterranean, acoustic), professional DJs, premium hookah service with expert preparation, and our botanical bar with kava and botanical cocktails. We can also coordinate with external entertainers if you have specific requests. Live music packages typically include 2-3 hour sets with our regular performers or custom booking options.

Is there parking available for private event guests?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we provide free parking in our dedicated lot at 16101 Ventura Boulevard in Encino. For larger events with full venue buyout, we can also coordinate valet parking service for an additional fee to make your guests' arrival seamless and convenient.

Question 7

Can I bring my own decorations for my event?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you are welcome to bring decorations to personalize your event space. However, we ask that all decorations are removed at the end of your event and that you avoid anything that could damage our walls, furniture, or fixtures (no nails, tape on walls, or open flames beyond our approved candles). Our events team can also provide recommendations for professional decorators familiar with our venue.

What is your cancellation policy for private events?

Accepted Answer

We require a 50% deposit to secure your reservation. For cancellations made more than 14 days before your event, we offer a full refund minus a $100 processing fee. Cancellations made 7-14 days in advance receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, cancellations made within 7 days of the event are non-refundable. However, you can reschedule your event (based on availability) within 90 days with no penalty if you provide at least 7 days notice.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies?

Absolutely! We take dietary needs very seriously and can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and halal requirements. Please inform us of any allergies or restrictions during the planning process, and we'll work with our chef to create safe and delicious options for all your guests. Our Mediterranean and Persian cuisine offers naturally diverse options that work well for various dietary needs.

Can I tour the venue before booking my event?

Yes! We highly encourage in-person venue tours to help you visualize your event. Please call us at (818) 489-2557 or email info@carnys.org to schedule a tour. Tours are typically available during off-peak hours (weekday afternoons). During your visit, you can meet with our events coordinator, discuss menu options, see the different spaces, and get all your questions answered.

What audio/visual equipment is available?

For full venue buyouts and corporate events, we can provide professional audio equipment including microphones, speakers, and a sound system for presentations or speeches. We also have ambient lighting that can be adjusted for your event atmosphere. If you need specific AV equipment (projectors, screens, etc.), please let us know during planning and we can either provide it or recommend trusted rental companies.

Is hookah service included in private event packages?

Premium hookah service is included in all private event packages. The number of hookahs depends on your package: Intimate Gathering includes 2 hookahs, Semi-Private Lounge includes 4 hookahs, and Full Venue Buyout includes unlimited hookah service throughout your event. You can choose from over 50 premium flavors, and our expert hookah masters will ensure perfect preparation and maintenance throughout your event.
